Obsidian is a semi-precious stone, which is hand crafted by master craftsmen to produce stunningly beautiful and exquisite wall tiles, mosaics and boarders. Natural Obsidian comes in either mahogany, gray transparent, black/transparent and black/opaque colours.

In Ancient Ages, the obsidian had been used in everyday life as a luxury tool. It became a symbol of richness and prestige in Rome, and used in the making of decorative vases and sculptures as well as in the mansions of aristocrats and palaces of emperors as decorative articles. It was also used in Europe and in Far East for therapeutic purposes. During these times, the Indians of North America used this stone as a “holy weapon” (arrow –spear edge, axe), and called the snow flake patterned obsidian found in the region as “Apache Tears”.  Obsidian was also frequently used as ornament and jewelry especially by women in India of Far East, and it was that an obsidian necklace pinned to the neck protects the mind and clears the heart; whereas the ornaments pinned to the hand (as bracelets or rings) enables behavioral balance and the obsidian anklets pinned to the feet has positive effects on health.

At the present day, it is widely used in medical science, especially in plastic surgery, as a scalpel edge. In astrology, obsidian is known to represent characteristics such as the reality, the balance in relationships, the stress with a predominating therapeutic quality –enabling the reduction of subconscious anxiety, avoiding negative energies, symbolizing pureness, unifying mind and emotion and harmonizing the mind and love. Since it has a great therapeutic quality, the obsidian has been believed to release the body from stress and to have a mysterious power which pulls out stomach aches as well as the pain in intestines and liver.

Obsidian wall tiles can be produced in varying sizes ranging from 10x10, 20x20, 30x40, 10x20, 20x30 and 30x60 cm. With regards to mosaics and borders these are produced to the design specification as supplied to us on a project-by-project basis.
