Brett Rabatin

Experience: Brett Rabatin is a Senior Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group at StoneX. Brett leads the banking equity research team while maintaining coverage of regional and community bank stocks across the United States.

Brett has worked on the sell-side since 1999, holding senior research and analyst roles across the financial institutions sector. Prior to joining StoneX, he served as Head of Research for Hovde Group and held analyst positions at Piper Jaffray & Co., Sterne Agee, FTN Midwest and JC Bradford. Earlier in his career, Brett was an analyst at Mercer Capital, where he focused on transaction advisory and valuation services for financial institutions.

Brett has received notable recognition for his research, including being named the No. 1 stock picker for banks and thrifts in The Wall Street Journal’s Best on The Street survey in 2002. He was also ranked No. 2 overall across all sectors by Forbes and StarMine in 2003. In the bank and thrift sector, Brett was named the No. 1 earnings estimator in 2013 and ranked No. 2 in 2004 and 2011.

Brett is frequently sought after for interviews by industry and news organisations, including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, S&P Global Market Intelligence and American Banker. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Memphis, is a CFA charterholder, and holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 86 and 87 licences.
