Arabica came under pressure from the opening bell. December opened at 285.30, just below the session high of 285.45. It was then sold steadily for the first two and a half hours -  rallies towards 283 were sold, and Z6 traded down to a 277.65 low before settling at 279.75, 4.20 cents lower. The point of control was 280.10, which is also where we saw the heaviest bid-hitting of the session. Losses eased further along the curve, from 4.20 in Z6 to 2.70 in H8.

Z/H settled 0.50 lower at 8.85, down from 9.35. It flushed early to 7.70 on thin volume, then recovered to 9.65 late in the session, with most of the trade done around 8.90 (VWAP 8.80). We opened with 59,976 lots of OI in Z6, down 2,106, while H7 added 499 to 59,569. A further 433 EFPs were posted in Z6. We are also starting to see fund rolling activity over the past two sessions. Z6 TAS volume came in at 1,190 lots on Tuesday and 1,847 lots today, against a 10-day moving average of 810. Today’s print is more than double the average. Z/H TAS printed 782 and 593 lots against a 10-day average of 405. The price action itself looks like long liquidation, but the open interest and EFP numbers suggest we may also be seeing some spec selling into the weakness. On the physical side, origin sellers have not followed the break, while roasters have taken advantage of the dip to add coverage.

London bucked the recent trend today. January spiked to a $3,247 high in the first half hour and faded steadily to just under $3,200 by mid-morning. It then recovered through the afternoon to settle at $3,228, up $18, with gains of $16–18 across the curve. The afternoon rally came without aggressive buying, which is a divergence worth watching. The settle sits just above the $3,221.60 VWAP and the point of control around $3,219.

F/H settled unchanged at $20 after trading a $16–22 range. Buyers were lifting offers at $21 into the close, with 191 lots lifted against 44 hit. OI built by 4,113 lots in total, led by F7 (up 2,114 to 64,170) and H7 (up 1,269), and 579 EFPs were posted in F7.
