We leverage long-standing connections to other repo desks on the street, which provides us with the ability to offer a very competitive rate to help finance Agency Debentures, Agency MBS, IG Corporates and ABS. How do market makers provide liquidity?
Market makers encourage liquidity in the markets by keeping the spread between the bid and ask low and standing ready to buy and sell securities at any time of the day. Without market makers, far fewer trades would be able to occur, and companies would have more limited access to capital.
