The January USDA reports are known for their surprises, as they contain more data than any other report during the year. Furthermore, the price implications from any potential surprises would be expected to be much larger this year, due to lower corn and wheat stocks and due to very tight projected soybean stocks. The January reports will provide a better picture of the impact of adverse weather on this year’s production expectations. It will also include USDA’s final 2020 production estimates, quarterly grain stocks, updated domestic and global supply and demand balance sheets, along with USDA’s first look at 2021 winter wheat acreage. Fasten your seat belts for a potential wild ride following the release of these reports, as they’ll set the tone for the months that follow.Learn More

An abundance of uncertainty continues to grip the global oil market due to risks posed by the upcoming US election, the possibility of a second wave of COVID-19 outbreaks, and other potential developments. These risks are making it difficult for companies to plan ahead at a time when doing so has never been more important.
To help companies overcome this challenge, StoneX Financial Ltd (formerly INTL FCStone Ltd) held a 45-minute virtual event on 28 October, that looked to help attendees gain a better understanding of market scenarios and risks that may materialize in the medium term. Specifically, the program:
- Explored the global supply/demand dynamics, while also analyzing the pace at which inventories will fall and rise in the global oil refining market
- On a sectoral view, assessed the speed of the recovery in manufacturing, aviation and road transportation with the use of high frequency data.
- Assessed the external macro and geopolitical risks that may infiltrate the energy markets in the months to come.
In recent years, advancements in technology have brought about significant changes to how we conduct business across borders – especially in the realm of financial transactions and payments. For example, companies can now access competitive market rates for exotic currencies that, in the past, were unattainable because the beneficiary’s local bank rate was the only rate available. In fact, clients can actually lock in a rate for an international payment before any funds have been sent, using a number of different systems. In this webinar, we will review the evolution of the automated rates space, discuss some of the new payment systems available, and detail how each works. We’ll also discuss system integration possibilities for file uploads, delivery instructions and other functionalities that can help streamline payment processes for companies. This webinar will be led by Clay McDonald, Charlotte Hampshire, and Chintan Parikh from INTL FCStone.Available On Demand
